Have a file? Check its record.

A provenance record ties a file hash to a wallet and a block. Here you can see who recorded a file, when, with which settings and whether it remixes another work.

01Hash the file

Your browser computes the SHA-256 of the exact bytes. The file never leaves the tab.

02Read the chain

Every wallet that recorded that hash on Base is listed, first claim first.

03Compare the details

Settings hash, parent and license come from each record, exactly as written.

Check a file

A record shows that a wallet published a hash at a block. It does not show who made the picture and it grants no rights. If several wallets recorded the same file, the earliest block is simply the earliest claim.
